Sunday - September 24, 2006 - Driving tour looking for raptors

It was a fun outing and a beautiful day. We did not see the number of raptors that we had seen the previous year. It appears that the Swainson's Hawks are all gone south for this year and the Rough-legged Hawks are not here yet. Maybe by the middle of October we will see some. We did find a juvenile Peregrine Falcon that was harassing a great blue heron. Those kids will do anything. We also found three Wilson's Snipe in a flooded field at the south west corner of Detour McDonald roads. Here is a list of some interesting birds that we found and their ocurrance.
